History of Rohetgarh |
|
Rohetgarh, the deserted city was the
home of the descendants of the 16th century Rathore of the Champawat
clan, Thakur Dalpat Singh I. The "Jagir" or fiefdom of Rohet was given
to him by the Maharaja of Jodhpur in 1622 AD, as a mark of
appreciation for his bravery in battle. The generations of various
kings built Rohet Garh, the heritage palace where the aristocratic
values of the people are respected. |
